Holding a performance degree in jazz guitar and bass from York University in Toronto, Geoff McFarlane has been a musician since day one.  Before that, really!  Not yet born, Geoff endured life on the road with Toronto Baroque orchestra, Tafelmusik in the womb of one of the flautists.  On his sixth birthday he began rigorous Royal Conservatory training which he maintained until his grade 8 level when the temptations of his father’s guitars and tape collection took over.

Growing up on Saltspring Island B.C. was not without its perks when it comes to experiencing a musical childhood.  Home to various Canadian icons, Geoff hadn’t yet finished high school before having shared the stage and studio with likes of Randy Bachman, Raffi and Bill Henderson (Chilliwack).

Now living and playing in Montreal, Geoff serves as the bassist for Psychocide, Sunminds, Dray Wood and the Silversonics.  He is the guitarist and bandleader for wedding band Emily Krol & the Crossroads and remains a frequent session artist for the York University Gospel Choir’s professional rhythm section.  He is also a roster musician at Shelter Valley Studios and is currently at work on his second solo record.

Geoff has 9 years experience teaching music to over 200 students privately and at various academies across Canada.  He looks forward to sharing music with you!
