Geoff was born and raised on Saltspring Island. He holds a diploma in jazz bass performance from York University in Toronto. He’s been a musician since day one…before that, in fact! While he was not yet born, he endured life on the road with the Toronto Baroque Orchestra, Tafelmusik, in the womb of one of the flutists. On his sixth birthday, he began piano training at the Royal Conservatory, which he continued until the eighth grade, when the temptation of guitars and his father’s cassette collection took over. Now living between Montreal and the small arts town of Smithers, British Columbia, Geoff is an active studio and touring bassist for artists such as Hansom Éli, Elijah Quinn, Naomi Kavka and Letchi. He is also a composer, educator and producer. He is currently working on his fourth studio EP and his most recent album, Someone Else, released in March 2023, features some of Canada’s (and this school’s) best performers and producers.
