Pianist Jean-Christophe Carette is a young singer-songwriter and producer recently active on the Montreal scene. Having obtained a bachelor’s degree in jazz performance from the University of Montreal, he stands out for his versatility acquired through his background as a classical performer, as well as his participation in several musical projects of various styles. (Performance with the indie pop group Hansom Eli at the Montreal Pop Festival, performance at the Dieze Onze bar, performance at the Saguenay Jazz and Blues Festival and at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, etc.).

According to his fellow musicians, his piano playing is distinguished by a great sense of melody and lyricism reminiscent of pianist Keith Jarrett. Having many influences other than the masters of Jazz, one can also appreciate subtle sounds coming from soul, blues and even hip-hop, which only spices up his playing.

He loves to transmit his passion for music and favours a balanced learning process that touches all aspects of music, from the mastery of theoretical notions to the interpretation of the instrument.
