ABOUT US
Located in Montreal’s Little Italy district adjacent to the Jean-Talon market (one of the oldest public markets in Montreal) our school was launched in 2016 by Johnny Zeffiro, the youngest son of the Zeffiro family that owned and operated the former Italmelodie, an iconic and revered Montreal institution.
Since then, our humble start-up has grown to over 400 students with 22 teachers, expanded teaching facilities and equipment, as well as a new range of products and services in conjunction with our affiliated music store Marche Muziq.
We are proud to offer our students an exceptional learning experience with educated and experienced teachers in a comfortable and well equipped environment.
30, 45 or 60 minute lessons?
As a rule of thumb, a beginning student should start slowly, a 30 minute weekly lesson is usually recommended. Some students however, more advanced students and/or adults may find that a half hour goes by too quickly and will prefer a 45 or 60 minute weekly lesson. Regardless, you can change your lesson duration at any time to suit your changing needs and progress.
How long does it take to learn?
Learning to play a musical instrument depends on many factors such as your innate abilities, love of music, time devoted to practicing, your goals etc. Do you want to play simple melodies or complex compositions that require advanced technical abilities? Everyone can learn how to play an instrument, the important thing is to just start, in time, you will know how far you want to take it.
Do I need an instrument?
You must have an instrument if you want to take music lessons. Check out our affiliated music store MUZIQ MARKET for our RENTAL and PURCHASE options and specials. We offer up to 4 FREE LESSONS with purchases and we also offer an option to buy with all instrument RENTALS and you can also rent one of our studios for practicing. Please note that our classrooms are fully equipped and you do not need to transport your instrument to class (with the exception of brass & wind instruments).
