Influences:
Norman Di Blasio started his musical education at the age of 13 studying classical piano at Le Conservatoire de Musique du Québec. After graduating, he continued his studies at Vanier College as well Concordia University and L’université de Montreal where he completed his baccalaureate. He also studied jazz piano with legendary Art Roberts as well as with his father, the late great Montreal jazz pianist, Norman Zubis.
Norman’s professional experience is rich and varied. He has worked as a keyboard player for 25 years in various commercial pop groups that have played all over the provence of Québec as well as internationally. He has performed in many prestigious venus such as Le Centre Bell, Place des Arts, Theatre St. Denis, Club Soda, Le Capitole de Québec to name a few. He is also a multi-instrumentalist (piano, vocals, guitar and bass) and has served as a session musician as well as a live musician for many Québec artists including Nanette Workman, Mitsou and 2 time Juno winner, Luba. He currently sings and plays guitar with the very successful Beatles Story in the role of John Lennon. Most recently, Norman has created the very successful show Beatles Story Orchestra where he performs his role as John Lennon as well as having created and arranged a 16 piece orchestra for strings and brass, He also the musical director for this show.
Norman has been teaching piano since 2003. He welcomes all ages and teaches all styles. His vast knowledge of music and extensive professional experience is coupled with his love to teach.
His enthusiastic and creative approach to studying the language of music and learning to play the piano promises the student a very rich and inspiring experience!
